Excellent sake with a strong sense of community and connection to their location. Numerous awards have been won by their sake; we enjoyed the tasting enough to bring home several bottles. The museum has some interesting tidbits from the history of sake brewing by this group. The staff is pleasant and helpful. We recommend Kobayashi sake Brewery both as an experience of the local history, as well as wonderful sake.
View on GoogleThe Kobayashi Sake Brewery Kuramoto Memorial Museum is a fascinating destination that offers a deep dive into the rich history of Hokkaido’s oldest sake brewery. Packed with exhibits showcasing the brewery’s legacy, it provided my family and me with a unique opportunity to learn about the traditional techniques and craftsmanship behind sake production. Housed in beautifully preserved Showa-era buildings, the museum feels like a step back in time. These structures, designated as Cultural Properties, gave us a glimpse into Japan’s architectural and cultural heritage, which made our visit even more special. We also loved the on-site sales office, where we had the chance to explore and purchase some of Kobayashi Brewery’s authentic sake products. It was the perfect way to take home a part of the experience and share it with friends. Overall, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was not only educational but also an engaging way to appreciate the history and culture of sake brewing in Hokkaido. If you’re traveling in the area, this museum is a highly recommended stop.

View on GoogleLots to see on the brewery grounds, very interesting stuff both on the second floor musem as well as the outside storage spaces! Lovely garden and a café to explore as well. Got to taste four different sake types at the museum shop, and just absolutely had to buy one bottle as a souvenir!
