The Kunneppu History Museum (くんねっぷ歴史館) is a charming local history museum housed in the old town hall building of Kunneppu. It preserves and exhibits artifacts related to the town’s history, daily life, culture, and the former Chihoku (“Furusato Ginga”) railway that once served the area. The displays include original station signs, railway memorabilia, and farm tools, giving visitors a heartfelt glimpse into the lives of past generations. Visiting is free, but hours are limited to weekdays (Monday–Friday, 10:00–16:00), and the museum requests visitors to contact the Town Education Committee in advance to arrange a visit. It’s located near the bus stop and has shared parking with nearby public facilities. Though compact, the museum offers a warm and intimate atmosphere. Insightful exhibits—like the preserved ticket booth and station artifacts—are often highlighted by local staff, making for a meaningful and educational experience. If you’re passing through Kunneppu on a weekday, this unassuming museum is a hidden gem well worth visiting!

It opens on weekdays, but you need to book in advance by calling the Education Committee's Social Education Section. You can see exhibits on the 北光社 immigrant group, materials from the discontinued 銀河線 railway, Showa-era life, a recreated penny candy shop, nostalgic household items donated by residents, the former mayor's office, and more.
