北見, the city of yakiniku, is packed with delicious restaurants. Apparently this place is run by a butcher shop. For my first order, I went with the recommended set. A set of beef sagari, beef karubi, beef tongue, and offal. The sagari was thick-cut and tender, with meat juices bursting out as you bit into it—irresistible. The karubi was tender too, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Not too fatty, and also delicious. The offal was pork offal, apparently a 北見 staple? Delicious enough to whet your appetite. The thick-cut beef tongue raised my expectations, but it was a little disappointing. Maybe it wasn't domestically produced? Next time I think I'll try ordering individual dishes. Still, 北見 has so many yakiniku restaurants, and they all seem to be thriving!
View on GoogleI visited the yakiniku restaurant side. Since it's an old-established butcher shop and yakiniku restaurant, I found myself raising my expectations, assuming they might source good meat. If asked whether it was incredibly delicious, I'd say not really—just average. It wasn't terrible either, so average. One thing I can clearly say was disappointing, though, is that perhaps they don't use particularly good charcoal, the charcoal doesn't last long. Even after eating an amount that would leave the charcoal burning easily at other places, the heat dropped toward the end and it seemed about to burn out. Someone from the restaurant even came over to ask something like, “Is it about to go out?” The fact that they check on it and ask after a certain amount of time probably means they do use charcoal that doesn't last long.
View on GoogleThe meat's tasty Lots of variety too Happy they have horse sashimi and things like that
View on GoogleIt was my first visit, but they apparently sell meat too, so the meat was very fresh and good. The seasoning was also to my liking, so I think I'll come again. The staff, who seemed to be a married couple, were very courteous too. The prices are fairly high, so you should budget around 4、5000円 per person. I think there was a counter for about 4、5 people and 3 tables in a raised seating area. The parking lot is a little narrow, so I'd recommend sharing a ride.
View on GoogleDuring the day, I went to the butcher shop side to buy meat. Then at night, I went to eat yakiniku. The butcher shop doesn't display any meat at all. They take partially frozen meat from the refrigerator, cut it up, and sell it, and despite being expensive, it was full of sinew, so I decided never to buy meat here again. Ordinary supermarket meat is better. Then a friend invited me to eat yakiniku at the restaurant, but despite the high prices, the quality wasn't particularly good, and above all, the portions were small. I had domestically produced beef sagari and other things, but there was far too little. The beef liver, horse sashimi—everything was brought to the table still frozen. I don't think eating here with children would be satisfying. I swore to myself that I would never come here again.
