Sanpachi Ramen, a Hokkaido local chain. It's everywhere (?) in Hokkaido. A reliable place, right? It was the 31st and nowhere was open, and when I was thinking, should I just go to Yamaokaya? But that's everywhere in Japan... the Sanpachi sign jumped out at me. Right! I went in and it was the right call. Food (☆4)~ With Sanpachi it's got to be miso! I ordered the miso ramen. Noodles and veggies neither too firm nor too soft. An exquisite miso aroma. Irresistible. I wanted the fried rice and gyoza too, but held back thinking of the eating and drinking ahead (sorry). I wanted to drink all the soup too, but my blood pressure is high so I held back (sorry again). It was so good Service (☆4)~ The owner(?) looked like he was glaring when I came in, which was a little scary, but he was normal when ringing me up. Maybe it was just my imagination. Atmosphere (☆4)~ Bright inside, lots of families, I could eat in a fun atmosphere Other~ No meal tickets; you sit down, look at the menu and order. Water is in a pitcher in front of you. Parking is shared with other stores and quite roomy

Hokkaido ramen standard, in a good way. This time I had the shoyu ramen and tuna-mayo rice set; the soup is fairly strong overall, so having something with rice to rest your tongue feels just right. Maybe aimed at young men. The richness of the fat and the umami of the vegetables form a solid base, giving the flavor depth. It's a chain, but don't underestimate it. 2023/5/18 I had the miso ramen and mini kakuni don set, and it was delicious (^^). The miso ramen soup had richness, umami and sweetness, yet a reassuring finish that, in a good way, doesn't stray from standard miso ramen. The kakuni don's meat was tender too; the seasoning is on the light side but the wasabi accent works well. 1130 yen for this set is cheap. Recommended. Update 2024/12/26 I had the special miso ramen and it's seriously good! I like the regular miso too, but the special miso has a white-miso-like sweetness and richness, and the flavor feels complex and deep. Add the freshness of ginger and the umami of minced meat, and it's flawlessly delicious! I recommend it!

Orthodox, and I think it works no matter who you're with. This time I had the miso ramen and mini curry set. 1100 yen. A reassuring flavor ♨

It was quiet so I went in. There are counter seats facing the front. I ordered the miso ramen and mini curry set for 1,030 yen. The miso ramen alone was 950 yen, so getting a mini curry for just 80 yen more is nice. Though you could also say the miso ramen price may be a bit high. The miso ramen had lots of vegetables like bean sprouts, but conversely the noodles felt scant. I thought the balance between noodles and toppings like vegetables was off. The soup tastes like typical miso ramen. The mini curry was a sweetish curry rice and tasty.

Stopped by for lunch with 2 coworkers. It's a place I often use when the timing works at lunchtime. Its appeal is the consistent flavor of what could be called a representative of Hokkaido ramen. The interior is clean and spacious, so you can enjoy your meal at ease. Mostly table seating, a layout that's easy for families and groups. There are also counter seats, so it's easy to come in alone too. The staff were polite, kind and very pleasant, and we had a comfortable time. That day I ordered the miso ramen, and my coworker the spicy ramen (miso). The miso ramen's rich soup pairs perfectly with the chewy curly noodles, and the spicy ramen (miso) has a good balance of heat and umami, especially recommended for spice lovers. Both soups were rich and deep, with a strong miso flavor. The noodles were chewy and cooked just right. Overall a very satisfying meal. I'd like to visit again soon.
