To Google, please correct the spelling to Pierson. The museum is named after George and Ida Pierson, not Pearson. Thank you.

Visited on a weekday morning The former home of an American pastor on a small hill in Kitami City It preserves the home of Pastor Pierson, who came from America in the Taishō period and carried out missionary and welfare activities in the area The house, also designed by an American architect, uses many curves and, unusually for homes of the time, has fairly large stairs designed for ease of use Inside, information about his activities and the desk he used are preserved, with several things that catch the interest Admission to the house is free Parking is free, with space for a few cars just before the entrance It would be worth making a detour when visiting Kitami

This is a 2-story wooden Western-style house designed by William Merrell Vories and built in 1914. The American missionary couple, the Piersons, lived here for 15 years. Inside are displays of the Piersons' belongings, an organ, and photographs.

The former home of the missionary couple, the Piersons, who stayed in Kitami from the Taishō through the Shōwa period, has been restored and is open free of charge as a memorial museum. The Western-style house surrounded by greenery has a magnificent exterior, but its elegantly designed interior is lovely too. Apparently it was designed by the American architectural engineer Vories. Inside are many exhibits, including materials about the Piersons and valuable photographs, as well as a recreation of the living room from that time. It feels as though every corner is filled with materials and decorations. On the 2nd floor there are also exhibits about Vories, who designed the house, and Elizabeth, Kitami's sister city, so there's plenty there too. There is simply so much on display that even 1 hour wouldn't be enough if you looked at everything carefully.
