The noren curtain was put away as soon as my spouse and I entered. Apparently, they had reached the last of their soba that Sunday evening. I had katsusoba, since it was a dish I rarely see at other soba restaurants. I poured on the broth, but unfortunately it was diluted by the water that had collected beneath the soba. The noodles could perhaps have been a little firmer too.

I ordered the butadon set. I thought both would be tiny portions, but they both seemed like regular portions? I was full. The soba was delicious too😊 Finished everything😊

◆Tenzaru 1400円 ◆Large portion 150円 ◆Ume onigiri 200円 Having a late lunch at そば処池田屋 today🍚🥢 Ordered a large tenzaru and an ume onigiri🍤🍙 The soba was standard nihachi soba, and the dipping sauce was light with a pronounced bonito broth flavor. The tempura had 6 kinds: maitake, pumpkin, eggplant, green pepper, onion, and shrimp. Freshly fried, super crispy, and incredibly delicious💕🤤👍️✨️ I was surprised when what I thought was sweet potato turned out to be onion (haha)😅 Thank you for the meal💕🙏

The price was affordable, the portions were large, and it was very delicious. The owner and proprietress were pleasant too. Smoking is allowed.

I couldn't decide between soba and katsudon, so I chose katsusoba. The katsu was reasonably thick, but not that large. You eat it with soba sauce rather than the usual sauce, and it actually goes quite well and tastes good. Soba broth is also served, but apparently you pour it into the soba bowl, making it awkward to drink. Every table has an ashtray, so it doesn't seem to be nonsmoking, but luckily the customers that day weren't smoking, so the smell didn't bother me much. Still, I feel it could get awful if office workers from nearby gather here. For now, I don't feel that strongly about it, and I'm interested in the onion tempura soba.
