(2026/03/30)It has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned diner. I had katsu curry. It tastes like homemade curry. It reminded me of my mother's curry. There were many other menu items that caught my attention, so I'd like to visit again.
View on GoogleEarly October 2025 Lunchtime at a long-established diner in a huge housing-complex area of Kitahiroshima♪ ______Manpuku_____ Back in the middle of the Showa era, there was a housing-complex boom. The complexes built then had shopping centers, small shopping streets covering everyday needs, and restaurant areas built alongside them. The corner where this shop stands also has that nostalgic Showa atmosphere… A solo weekday lunch. I arrived exactly at opening time, just as the motherly proprietress with a white punch perm hung the noren at the entrance♪ Behind the shop is a shared parking lot for the facilities in this corner (probably…), but everyone who arrived after me, Umeshiro, the first customer, parked on the street before coming in… So that's probably usually okay, but please do so at your own risk. I sat at the counter and chose from the menu… 【Torikatsu】 Yes, the name “torikatsu” rather than “chicken katsu” somehow really gets me〜♪ The food arrived. Looks delicious! All right, time to dig in. Let's eat〜🙏 The sauce on the table is chuno sauce, so I drizzled a little on the cutlet. The salad has mayonnaise, so I balanced that cabbage mayo with the sauced torikatsu and took a bite—Amsterdam! The coating is super crunchy, and the chicken inside is tender, mild domestic chicken. No advance seasoning, deliberately, and absolutely nothing premade: an earnestly prepared dish♪ It's in the home-cooking category, but has a reassuring flavor and consistency that suggest experience. Thank you for the meal~🙏 …Yes, this is a place that would have its regular fans〜 The shop's aura, the white-punch-perm mother's presence, and the food all fit together perfectly. “A set-meal diner completely at home in its role” describes it exactly… Thank you, Mom♪ I'm busy visiting restaurants, so I don't know when, but I'll come again when the timing works~Manpuku♪
View on GoogleAn old-fashioned diner in the Kitahiroshima housing complex. An elderly woman was running it alone. I ordered miso ramen, and my companion ordered the torikatsu set. It's nice that they call it torikatsu rather than chicken katsu. As for the all-important taste, the miso ramen was classic Sapporo miso; the noodles could perhaps have been a little firmer. Was the torikatsu seasoned like karaage chicken? It was crispy and delicious. You couldn't call the interior clean even out of politeness, but its warm, nostalgic atmosphere, like returning to your hometown, is lovely. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleFound it by chance while making deliveries. I went in, thinking that if I missed this opportunity there might not be another. No parking. A woman runs it alone. Apparently you can drink alcohol at night too. This summer has been so hot that she's decided not to make ramen for a while. Not much of a menu. I ordered oyakodon for 750 yen. It was just like what my mother makes.
View on GoogleThe reviews said there was no parking, so I called, and it turned out there was space for about 4 cars behind the shop! The exterior had changed a little! Inside, the old-fashioned atmosphere was really nice. I ordered ebiten-don, and the batter was crispy with sweet sauce nicely soaked into it. Delicious. I'd like to come again if I have business in the area😊
