Excellent sushi at a reasonable price (you can walk out with a bursting belly for $20-30). The owners are an absolute delight.

The only sushi restaurant in town. The inside is clean and there was a raised tatami seating area. The tokujo (premium) set was 2800 yen⚡️ and included uni; the rice was a bit larger, in true town-sushi style, and had a chewy feel. It comes out all at once, and I thought it was admirable and impressive how they stick to "this is how we do it here" 😊 It had a homey atmosphere and was a good, heartwarming restaurant 😊

On a whim during a trip to Aomori, I thought "I want to go through the Seikan Tunnel!" and got off at Kikonai Station. We wanted dinner, and this was the only sushi restaurant near the station 🍣 The personalities of the owner and the proprietress, the toppings, and the prices were truly the best! First I was surprised by how good the pickled ginger was! I've never had such sweet ginger. I kept saying it's delicious, delicious! as I ate, and they kept bringing more ^^ I had the upper nigiri set. It's the style where all nine pieces come out at once. The toppings were big and delicious, which made me happy!! The uni I ate here was the best I've ever had ✨ It had no smell at all and melted the moment it went into my mouth! They said it's delicious because it's locally caught uni that isn't hardened with alum! I made wonderful memories enjoying delicious sushi while chatting happily with the very cheerful, talkative owner and the very kind proprietress!

I had reasonably priced, delicious sushi and sake. You can walk there from the Michi-no-Eki, so the location is great too. I think it's worth making it a destination of your trip through southern Hokkaido.

They served delicious ingredients in a relaxed atmosphere. It's a restaurant I'd look forward to visiting next time too.
