Amazing cute little coffee shop. The owner lives for attention to detail and it is amazing to see him crafting coffee. I got the mocha beans and my gf got the Kilimanjaro. Both great. The place is next to the ocean (with great views), wood decor, jazzy music…the place looks like taken out of a movie. They serve food but did not try it. The place is not obvious to find. It is inside a blue building next to the road. Worth it and fully recommended

View on GoogleA seaside café just before downtown Kikonai; if you're coming from the expressway, it's right after you turn right. I thought they only did coffee before, so I never really had a chance to go, but I found they had a spaghetti menu and came in. When you open the first of two doors, there's a strong smell of cigarettes. People who don't like that might be bothered. When you open the next door, you're greeted by a master who doesn't seem to be good at customer-service smiles. I ordered the "Crab Tomato Cream," which the menu describes as "a new type with an American sauce base, with added red snow crab meat and cream," as a set with iced coffee. I waited a while at a window seat, looking out at the cloudy sea. American sauce (maybe sauce américaine is the more common name?) is made by simmering crustaceans with tomatoes and such and finishing it with fresh cream, so it feels a bit different from the "new type" in the description. That said, it was perfectly tasty, so I finished every bit of the sauce. With a drink it came to just over a thousand yen, so I'm satisfied.
View on GoogleA café that suddenly appears along National Route 228. In the freezing cold under snowy skies, I stopped by and got nice and warmed up. I ordered the gratin and drink set. The freshly made gratin warmed me up from the inside, it was the best. As for the coffee, the weakest one was quite easy to drink, which was nice. Why not relax and soothe the fatigue of your drive while gazing at the sea?
