Nukabira River Bridge Head down the walking trail behind the Higashi Taisetsu Memorial Museum, and after walking a while, an impressive bridge comes into view. Perhaps because of its location, there are few people, making it something of a hidden gem. There is also a walking trail up onto the bridge from the side, so you can enjoy it from both above and below.
View on GoogleThe only bridge among the arch bridges of the former Japanese National Railways Shihoro Line located within the hot spring town. It is about a 15-minute walk from each accommodation. If you park in the lot in front of the Higashi Taisetsu Nature Center, you can reach it in 5 minutes from there. There are wooden stairs before the bridge, and when you go down, there is also an explanatory sign with photos. The Nukabira River Bridge is especially lovely with autumn foliage.

View on GoogleYou don't see many signs for it, but it's a place you should definitely see when visiting 糠平温泉. You can reach it with about a 5-minute walk along a mountain path. Exploring the surrounding area is fun too.
View on GoogleYou can get there in about 5 minutes on foot along the small path beside ひがし大雪自然館. For somewhere so easy to reach, the bridge is large and impressive, which is nice. Since it's close to town, I think the risk of bears is low, but apparently bears sometimes appear in 糠平温泉郷, so it might be best to stay cautious just in case
