I have lunch here every day whenever I am on duty in Kamishihoro, aside from the pork, I have tried every item on the menu. Thank you for serving such delicious food.

View on GoogleI visited right after opening on a weekday. There were already several customers, which showed it's a popular shop. The shop has a counter right after you enter, and a tatami seating area further back, so it seems it can seat quite a lot of people. I had the butadon. As everyone says, the portion is generous. The savory smell whets the appetite, but even the regular size filled me up. The large size my companion ordered had a whole bowl of rice. The volume was such that I mistook mine, which arrived first, for the large. Everything seems generous in portion overall so be careful. And the taste was also delicious. I think you can't go wrong with anything you order, but I think you should watch out for the amount. I come to Kamishihoro occasionally, and I'd like to stop by again. But next time I want to come hungry. It was delicious.

Big-eater hunters, challengers wanted 🧑🍳Shop name: 金亀亭 🏠Location: Hokkaido, Kawahigashi-gun, Kamishihoro-cho, Kamishihoro Higashi 2-sen 234 🚃Access: Kamishihoro area (assumes travel by car) ⸻ 🟠Impression of the shop and service A simple space typical of a community-based diner. No excessive staging, service is smooth and practicality-focused. The impression is that operations are stable for a volume-heavy menu. ⸻ 🟠Menu • Mega butadon (1,500 yen) Impressions of the menu The star is the grilling of the pork and the design of the sauce. The meat has a solid grill color, clearly drawing out savory aroma through the Maillard reaction. On the other hand, excessive hardening is avoided, and the balance of texture is maintained as the fat melts. The sauce follows the classic sweet-savory design, but it is thick, and it deserves credit for being tuned so the flavor doesn't become blurry relative to the quantity. Its penetration into the rice is appropriate, and rather than merely "relying on quantity," the composition keeps its flavor unity to the end. However, overall the layers of flavor are simple, with somewhat little variation or dynamics. Satisfaction relative to quantity is high, but in terms of delicacy and lingering finish it falls one step short. ⸻ ✅Overall assessment: The grilling and sauce design that makes overwhelming volume work is excellent. The direction of ingredients and technique is clear, and its completeness as a mass-production menu item is high. While it doesn't stand out in terms of multilayered flavor or delicate composition, on the axis of "quantity × stable technique" it's a bowl with an advantage within the region.
View on GoogleA classic tonkatsu teishoku. The coating is lightly crisp, and the pork inside is moist and tender. The more you chew, the more the savory flavor spreads. Plenty of cabbage, miso soup, and the rice goes down easily too. It pairs well with the sauce, a simple yet highly satisfying meal. A set meal that's a sure bet on days you want to eat properly.
