A well maintained rail museum documenting the history of railway services in the area. The interior is small but filled with information. Entrance is 100yen. What's disappointing however is probably there's only one rail car left outdoors. The disused track though is pretty long and one can actually take a walk around the premise too.
View on GoogleAdmission is a very reasonable 100 yen. And I thought it was worth more than 100 yen. The building is small, but it's packed with exhibits, and all of them were interesting. If you remember the Showa era, you'll probably find many nostalgic items. There's a toilet too, so it might be good to drop by during a bathroom break.
View on GoogleI was interested in the Taushubetsu Bridge and Mitsumata Sanso, so I visited. It's closed in winter. The films and materials helped me understand more deeply. For 100 yen you can see a wealth of materials from that era—very satisfied. There have also been reports of bear encounters in Hokkaido, so out of caution I couldn't... but if there were no risk of running into bears, I'd have liked to walk along the tracks outside the museum.
View on GoogleIt's built on the site of the former Nukabira Station on the old JNR Shihoro Line. I couldn't ride anything, but the exhibits, including valuable station name signs from that time, were well worth seeing.
View on GoogleIt's in Nukabira Onsen. It's the site of a discontinued line; in May the Ezo cherry blossoms are in full bloom and beautiful, but the abandoned line makes me sad. On weekends they run a trolley train.
