A thoroughly enjoyable culinary experience. A converted elementary school into a restaurant. They had kept a lot of the charm of the building's previous history which I found cute. You order food via a QR code with English as an option. The service was excellent (we had the bar table next to the teppanyaki cooking area). All our food was cooked to perfection. I had ordered the sirloin steak and was hesitant when I saw how lean the protein was, but was pleasantly surprised how expertly the chef had cooked it. It was cooked to perfection and was so tender (I also had the optional melted cheddar cheese on top which added some umami). We also ordered the home made honey lemonade. The drinks had a strong floral essence which came from the honey. We thoroughly enjoyed how refreshing it was. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the area.
View on GoogleGreat place to have a home made hamburger. Menu is short, but recipes are great, side dishes can be added too. Home made honey is also delicious!

About 10 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Kamishihoro, it's a popular spot where customers from in and out of town gather for Naitai wagyu hamburg and steak. 🍛What I'd recommend first is the unexpected dark horse, the 『Beef Curry』. Fresh cream swirls over a deep brown roux, with restrained spices and an emphasis on richness and umami in a European style. When you dip the spoon in, the beef's umami spreads juicily, a mellow hideaway curry. The signature 『tobachi hamburg』 is a juice bomb that sizzles on the teppan, made with a unique blend of Naitai wagyu + Tokachi lean beef. There are 3 sauce choices: demi-glace, onion, and grated ponzu. Besides that there are hamburg & sagari cut steak, Kamishihoro pork chop, fluffy-soft omurice, and even a honey parfait unique to being run by the apiary, a theme park of meat and sweets. 🍃Because it's in the mountains 20 minutes by car from the town center, access assumes driving. It's closed Tuesdays plus the 1st and 3rd Mondays, so checking before visiting is recommended. Recommended for 『those drawn to abandoned school × gourmet』 and 『those who want to enjoy Tokachi wagyu casually』, a staple teppanyaki spot in Kamishihoro. 🌟Overall rating: ★4.1 / 5.0
View on GoogleThe shop is located a bit away from the town of Kamishihoro. It reuses the site of an abandoned elementary school. The toilets and hand-washing areas are used as they were, which makes for a fun atmosphere somehow. It seems to be popular, so I arrived early and waited. By opening time there was a line. I ordered a 200g hamburg with bacon topping and a rice and salad set. The hamburg was so juicy that the juices overflowed when I cut it with a knife. The bacon had a strong smokiness and saltiness, and was delicious. It's far away, but I understood well why it's popular! I'd like to go again. The shop name "Tobachi" seems to come from "Tokachi" and, since they keep bees, "hachi (bachi)".
