A pleasant little hidden gem. Even for those who are not particularly interested in flowers, it is worth a short visit as a break on the way to Sounkaku. It is located about a 20–30 minute drive from the center of the onsen town and the ropeway. This is not a traditional Japanese garden. Instead, it consists of extremely easy and accessible paths, suitable even for wheelchairs, winding among attractive flower beds. The setting is quiet, peaceful, and very aesthetically pleasing. A short walk around the grounds takes only a few minutes. At the far end, there is also a nice play area for children, with a trampoline, scooters available to borrow free of charge, and a few other activities. It is not a must-see, but it makes a lovely short stop if you are already in the area.
View on GoogleAfter our heafty experience in crowded flower fields in Biei/Furano area this garden was a relaxed heaven. It was truly about nature and gardening and actually enjoyable for a few hours of you integrated the cafe and the play area in the forest part. We found this very relaxing. Thank you
View on GoogleWent there on 01 May 2026 and the flowers, hyacinths, daffodils and the montane wildflowers in the garden patch were blooming. They only officially open on 16 May, so they let us in for free. A good halfway stop on the way to Takinoue from Asahikawa
