It's a small izakaya restaurant.. family run by a lovely elderly couple and helped by their daughter.. the food is amazing!! The serving is very reasonable and the price is so cheap for the quality they served.. went there straight two night.. next time I'm back to Iwanai for work, I'll definitely visit them again.
View on Google2026.3 I decided to go drinking in Iwanai, made a reservation, and visited. My companion canceled at the last minute, so I ended up alone as usual lol. I took a spot at the counter, but it was already full. You can tell it's popular. First I ordered draft beer and sanshozuke instead of the otoshi appetizer. Then the lady owner asked, “Our sanshozuke is really spicy. Is that okay?” I said, I'm fine! No problem! When I tried it with my drink, it really was spicy lol, but delicious. The fried small shrimp came in an enormous portion! Not an amount for 1 person lol, and delicious. I ordered assorted sashimi, and every piece was fresh and delicious too. Other customers also ordered platters, but theirs had thickly sliced sashimi and looked incredibly impressive. It seems they were being considerate because I was dining alone. Next time I'd like to order thick slices. Though that alone would probably fill me up. Even with a fair amount of drinks and the popular zangi to take away, it was around 4500円. I'd like to return to this place!
View on GoogleWhile wandering around Iwanai's bars, I was strolling aimlessly when I thought this place looked promising…… and went in. It used to be a snack bar, so its appearance made me wonder, is this okay? But I was surprised to find lots of people inside❗️ Of course, I was a first-time customer, but the service was fine. Maybe the interior is a little cluttered? To start, I ordered sashimi for 5 people, crab cream croquettes, and fried small shrimp. For the sashimi they ask, “Would you like thick slices?” Since thickly cut salmon can be a bit…… I chose thin slices. What is this!? This is an outrageous platter. The sake keeps going down❗️ And down❗️ Absolutely fantastic. Thanks for the meal. I'd happily come back to Iwanai just for this place.
View on GoogleThe sashimi is amazing. Looking at what a customer at the counter had, I thought it was thickly cut. When I ordered a sashimi platter, the staff said, “Ours is thickly sliced, but we can make it thin if you don't like that.” I replied, “I saw it earlier, so that's fine, thick slices please,” but the counter customer's was actually thinly sliced. Anyway, the thick-cut sashimi is incredibly impressive. And it's delicious too. Good service, good value, and a great place loved by locals too.
View on GoogleThe photo is an assorted sashimi platter. I was surprised by how large each slice was. Someone else ordered sushi, so it seems they make nigiri sushi too.
