Do note that staff do not speak English and there’s no English menu as this is country side. We used google review image to order. The soba looks handmade and it’s soooooo good and refreshing. I added a bowl of naigaimo (grated yam) it’s recommended to dip the soba in.
View on GoogleOn my way to Sunagawa, this soba shop was close to the highway exit, so I stopped by. It was around 1:30 on a Saturday, and there were 2 groups of customers. There’s parking for 2 cars in front of the shop and about 7 cars diagonally across the street. It’s on a narrow road and can’t be seen from the main road But it’s easy to find using a car navigation system or a smartphone search. As other reviewers have mentioned I like their hospitality, serving bancha and green tea before and after the meal😊 Both the proprietress and her husband greeted us properly, making it pleasant and allowing us to enjoy a relaxed meal. If I were nearby, this is a shop I’d like to stop by again😊 Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleI had inaka soba. The thick, chewy soba paired perfectly with the aromatic dipping broth, whose kaeshi had a slightly sharp flavor, and it was delicious. The sobayu, with just the right amount of dissolved buckwheat flour, was delicious too. The location is a little hard to find, but the interior is spacious and clean. After the meal, my wife and I said, “We found a good place!” This is definitely a soba shop I’d like to revisit when having lunch in Iwamizawa.
View on GoogleAlthough it operates quietly and unobtrusively in a residential area, it’s easy to find on a smartphone or car navigation system, so it’s very busy. There’s parking in front of and beside the shop, and for 7,8 cars diagonally across the street. They keep taking in customers, but the owner and 2 other staff members prepare the food carefully, so the wait is long. You can choose thin sarashina soba or very thick inaka soba. There’s also a 2-variety set, but the styles are so different that I think it’s better to choose whichever you prefer. They serve “高遠蕎麦”, eaten using 1 stalk of green onion instead of chopsticks. Quite a few people order it.
View on GoogleAn acquaintance told me about a delicious soba shop, and I finally went today. We ordered a large bukkake soba and a 2-variety seiro The sarashina soba was smooth, went down easily, and was incredibly delicious‼ It’s a place I’d like to visit again.
