A place where you can eat old-fashioned ramen! A place you'll want to stop by when you go to Iwamizawa! The Bikkuri Tendon is so huge you might not finish it (lol)
View on GoogleThey originally ran a ryotei in the city center, but closed it due to the recession, and the wife opened a ramen shop here. It's a pleasant, unpretentious shop with the feel of someone wanting to enjoy their later years watching the customers who come by. It's nostalgic Showa-era ramen, like what you'd eat at a department store cafeteria. It may be the quintessential old-style ramen. However, it closes early. If you really want to eat it, I recommend going between 12:00 and 14:00 on a regular day.
View on GoogleNot old-style—it's old ramen, period. Light and simple, but it doesn't hide behind fat or tare; good dashi comes through. The rock-hard chashu is nice too. Note that you pay when the food is handed to you.
