A peaceful and well-maintained stopover with great views of the Sea of Japan. The Hamanasu no Oka Park Visitors Center is a nice place to learn more about the local nature and plant life, especially the hamanasu (rugosa rose), which the area is known for. Inside, you’ll find some interesting exhibits, clean restrooms, and a cozy rest area. They also sell local souvenirs and soft cream—perfect for a quick treat after a walk. The staff were kind and welcoming. A relaxing place to stop by if you’re exploring Ishikari!
View on GoogleThe combination of the Ishikari River mouth, Ishikari Lighthouse and Hamanasu Park is unexpected, but seeing them and taking a walk is satisfying. It's on the outskirts of Sapporo, but the tip of the river mouth feels like you've “reached the edge of the world.
View on GoogleI stopped by for a break after walking around the park. I had the “hamanasu soft serve.” It was my first time eating hamanasu, but among the flavors I remember, it seemed closest to apricot. There are tables and chairs on the 2nd floor too.
View on GoogleApparently the vegetation rivals that of a national park. Not just hamanasu, but various flowers were blooming.
View on GoogleThe view is nice. They sell somewhat unusual souvenirs.
