Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant

During the day they serve set meals, ramen, and other food; at night, in addition to the daytime menu, it becomes an izakaya menu. The portions are generous and the menu is large. However, business hours may change due to events or reservations. We appreciate your understanding and consent.

May 16, 2025 lunch I arrived around 13:15, hurried inside and asked "Is it still okay?", and was kindly shown to the counter. Since it was past 13:00 there were no other customers inside, and I ordered the shio ramen (800 yen) and half-portion fried rice (400 yen), and the bowl and plate arrived in about 5 minutes. The shio ramen has a gentle flavor but still a solid richness. The noodles were cooked just right, piping hot, and I felt the urge to slurp them all at once. The half fried rice was lightly sweet and mild with egg, chashu, and onion, so mild that eating it with the pickled red ginger makes it taste like red ginger, but that's about right to eat with ramen. The amount was just right and I was full. Thank you for the meal.

I wandered around town looking for lunch, but there were few restaurants around and not many choices, so I went in. The interior feels old but has a good atmosphere. The menu is extensive with noodles, set meals, and rice bowls. At night it seems to become an izakaya. Being lunchtime, it was crowded mainly with customers who seemed to be locals. This time I had the salted mackerel set meal. The salted mackerel isn't strong and is easy to eat. The small side dish was katsudon topping and squid shiokara. Also pickles and miso soup. It was a nice set meal.

A teishoku restaurant in front of Horonobe Station. They also run a minshuku. The interior has the atmosphere of a traditional teishoku restaurant. There were also many local families with children. The menu includes ramen, rice bowls, and set meals, and you can also eat dishes using reindeer and duck, local specialties. I had the reindeer bowl. It's a rice bowl of reindeer meat with shiitake and onions bound with egg. The reindeer I tried for the first time tasted like a mix of venison and whale meat.

The gyoza are packed tight with filling and delicious. The curry has a somehow nostalgic taste. About medium spicy, I think? The portion is plenty too. It comes with salad, too, very satisfied 😁 〜Added 2021.4.28〜 Today I had the "gyoza set meal". The pan-fried gyoza are also bursting with filling and juicy and tasty, and I recommend this one too. Thank you for the meal.

Supposedly a yakiniku set meal. Yakiniku? The taste wasn't bad, but it was a bit so-so. Overpriced.
