☆Soba Flower Observation Deck☆ This is what the observation deck is like now In the past, there were many facilities, including a soba shop and an exhibition hall There was a little soba shrine, but… that was removed too The observation deck feels lonely now, with only a gazebo left… The soba flowers are still sparse, but once they really bloom, they will surely be beautiful again this year☆ I have uploaded this observation deck several times too Last time I said the seeds had not been sown, but finally the cute soba sprouts have appeared So they grow it after planting green manure, now I understand☆ When autumn comes, we should be able to see beautiful flowers again~♪ This time I tried photographing the shrine worshipped at this spot☆ (I wonder if we can eat soba here this year?)

This was my first time seeing a soba field. And it is vast. How wonderful it feels to eat soba right beside it! There are few sunny days at this time of year, so the sky was overcast. I thought it would be even more amazing if it were sunny. I rented a car in Nayoro and took a route through Lake Shumarinai, Horokanai, Shiokari Pass, and Asahiyama Zoo. I stopped here along the way. I left the shore of Lake Shumarinai in the morning and arrived right at lunchtime, which was perfect. The soba is delicious! It has a nice chewy texture too. There are all sorts of things along this road to enjoy. An unexpected hidden gem in Hokkaido.

I was able to visit in July when it was lush green, in August when the flowers bloomed and the whole area was pale green, and in September when it had turned brown before harvest. It was my first time seeing such a vast expanse of soba fields, and I was deeply moved. Looking closely at the flowers, I was surprised by their beautiful pink stamens!

You can quietly enjoy the expansive scenery. I headed south from Lake Shumarinai toward central Horokanai. You will pass it by unless you have picked it out on Google Maps. The unpaved parking lot is spacious, but as others have written, there is only a gazebo. No toilets either. There is no sign on the road. But having nothing there is what makes it nice. I was able to enjoy the scenery in peace. The soba flowers looked like they were about to reach full bloom.

This is what the Soba Flower Observation Deck looks like right now きたむらさん's shop too is still covered in plenty of snow When the season comes, below here it will not be snow, but pure white soba flowers in full bloom☆ (The beautiful Uryu mountain range is visible across the road) It seems that this year, below this observation deck, soba seeds have not been sown・・・
