Quiet - gentle - cozy - friendly That's all we can say to describe the rocket cafe Actually, the café's style and its name are kind of unrelated. The space is decorated in a gentle, cheerful style for those nostalgic for a childhood full of toys. I heard the decorations were collected by the owner while traveling all over the world. The drinks and food here aren't very varied, but they're very good for the quality, and the owner often treats you to free snacks like cake, jam,...

When I asked the master, they said, ‘At first I thought maybe I'd call it Rock Cafe? But I figured the clientele would be too skewed, so based on the image of the building, I went with Rocket Cafe.’ It seems to be a rocket with the master's love of rock hidden inside. (^^) It felt like a shop overflowing with toys, but apparently live music shows are held here regularly too. According to the notice for a live show on Sunday, July 14, 2019, it's a flat 500 yen for both customers and musicians. The idea is ‘Let's all have fun together!’ The master was friendly and told me all sorts of things. ‘Higashikawa town has none of the three “roads”: railways, national highways, and water mains.’ I knew every household uses well water instead of a water supply, but I didn't know there were no railways or national highways either. (^^; There's a parking lot. No smoking inside. *I found it later, but there's a video introducing this shop uploaded on YouTube. It conveys the shop's atmosphere and the master's personality really well. Check it out if you're interested.

A cozy, hideaway-like shop In regional cities, places tend to close at night... but this shop is open until midnight There's basically no cake or anything, but coffee you drink while chatting across the counter with the friendly, rock-loving master and listening to music by rock stars of yesteryear playing in the shop is grown-up time It's only open on weekends, but they occasionally hold live shows at the shop, and it's a place I want to cherish and stay connected with for a long time ⚠️No smoking inside (smoking is OK on the terrace near the exit)
