From the gondola lift station, the hike to the observation platform is not wearisome. It's like a leisurely walk along a winding pathway which is wide. The view around is spectacular, the shrubbery is well kept. Breeze is cool and refreshing. At the top, there are benches where you can sit, relax and really appreciate the wonderful surrounding, nature at its finest... with billowing smoke along the mountain slope. People are very mindful of the surroundings. No staff are there to remind tourists on what to do or what not to do.
View on GoogleI believe this is the place with the best view among all the observation points. Looking toward the mountain peak, you can see steam rising from the active volcano, and if you look in the opposite direction, you'll be greeted by stunning natural scenery. You can reach this spot in just a 5-minute walk.
View on GoogleStunning volcano with fumaroles nearby. Weather can be tough just like today with snow and fog. I never could have imagined that you could possibly lose your orientation on a easy round path but here it’s totally possible in this conditions. Remember that end of may is still winter season up there. It’s so convenient that they have free rubber boots in the mountain ropeway station and even molds for building a snowman!
View on GoogleWe didn’t go higher then this view point and it was crazy beautiful, Mt. Asahidake is clearly visible from here. It was truly Kamuimintara (Garden of the Gods) as Ainu people say!
View on GoogleUp in the clouds amongst the fumaroles, definitely a memorable trip.
