Stepping into Victorian Rose felt like a small, cheerful time-warp: high windows, dark wood floors, vintage furniture, floral tablecloths, and that bright winter light over a snow-dusted garden. Even in February it’s charming — and you can easily imagine how stunning it must be in summer when the garden is in bloom (I spotted rose and hydrangea shrubs outside). We went for the afternoon tea set (a little splurge — just over ¥5,200 for us) and it was exactly the cozy, classic experience I wanted: pretty china, proper tea service, sandwiches, scones, and sweets on a tiered stand. It’s not a fast café; it’s a “slow down and enjoy” kind of place — perfect after walking around Motomachi.
View on GoogleThe restraunt decor is nice and cozy. The food is nice and the tea is good. Staff are helpful and patient in explaining on how to prepare and pour the tea properly. If it wasn't closing time, I would stay longer.
View on GoogleI came in here because it had a sign that says rose ice cream. It didn't disappoint as the ice cream I had was delicious and very creamy and had dried rose petals as a garnish. The tea room itself is lovely and there's a part that's like a parlour / sunroom. There's a shop as well that sells souvenirs and this is where you can order food and tea. The last room here is for taking photos
View on GoogleThere was no waiting upon our arrival on Thursday 1pm. There was a discount of 10% if you visited one of the surrounding English museums. At first glance, the price shown on the menu was 2800 yen for the afternoon tea set. The reception reminded us that 2800 yen was per person price and the photo shown was 2 persons' portion. In short, to get exactly as the set shown in the photo, we need to pay 2800 x2 = 5600 yen. But if we did visit one of the nearby English museums, we will get 10% discount 560 yen from the 5600 yen. Therefore we only paid 5040 yen. We topup another 100 yen for darjeeling tea from India. The pricing was quite confusing at the beginning. But, the afternoon tea set really justified its cost. All the scones, cake, sandwiches and tea were outstanding. We were told to opened up the tea pot only after 5 minutes, and the tea was astonishing good. There was a princess setting chair and costume for selfie sessions. The surrounding of thus old British High Commissioner was fascinating
