The burger place was fairly crowded, which is usually a good sign. The taste was pretty standard — just like burgers in general, nothing particularly special or unique. In terms of price, it’s reasonable — not too expensive, but not exactly cheap either. The dining area was nice and clean, which made it comfortable to eat there. However, the restroom was not well maintained. Even though people mainly come to enjoy the food, the toilet should also be kept clean and properly maintained, as customers may need to use it before or after their meal. Overall, it was an okay experience.

The most popular burger in Hakodate. There are many stores in Hakodate and always a queue at lunchtime in all their store. This store is the main store and have a much shorter queue than the one at the bay area. The food is generally delicious, likely because it’s prepared fresh and served immediately. I ordered the Chinese Chicken Burger and Lucky Egg Burger. Eat them while their buns are still crispy and warm.

This was a truly unforgettable experience - as to call it a meal would be a slight to the rest of our meals. After nibbling at our food, we lamented our choice and mourned the loss of one of our precious vacation meals that was usurped by this eerie clown. Others claim it was the best burger they've had; no shade to them - different folks different strokes we guess? We were apprehensive to begin with whether or not to visit based on pictures and reviews but the notoriety within Hakodate finally made us cave in. We have had our fair share of chain restaurants and tailor our expectations accordingly. Value picks that should taste good but may not incorporate the best ingredients or have the most intricate preparation methods - that's fine! This was not fine. The food came within less than a minute of ordering. Overwhelming amount of mayo, not the kewpie kind more of the Hellmanns kind, and this is coming from someone who adores mayo. Chicken pieces instead of a patty is an intriguing choice and nothing more. Katsu is oily and saucy yet somehow very dry. Also this particular branch smelled irrefutably of plastic. Don't knock it till you try it as it is a Hakodate staple; however, proceed at your own risk.

Lucky Pierrot Bay Area Main Store is one of those places that truly belongs to Hakodate. Loud, colorful, slightly kitschy and full of personality, it feels more like a local institution than a standard burger joint. The retro interior with green booths, vintage posters and eclectic decorations makes the visit part of the experience, not just a quick meal. We visited the Bay Area branch, located right next to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses. We ordered a mixed pork–beef burger — hearty and filling, though the amount of sauce was very generous (a bit too much for our taste). The fries were excellent, crispy and flavorful, clearly made from local Hokkaido potatoes, which really makes a difference. We arrived while a fireworks display was still ongoing and there were many empty tables. However, when we left shortly after 6:00 pm, the restaurant was completely full and people were already waiting outside in line.

The line is very long and takes a while but the food was great! Had the Chinese chicken burger set and the sauce for the fries was amazing. Overall awesome and worth the line up
