This is a Seafood izakaya Tank to Table style restaurant. Located just next to the Hakodate Morning Market. There is a live seafood tank for crabs, prawns, squid, sea urchin and other seasonal fish. They'll prepare the meal with these fresh ingredients in local food dishes to your table. Don't miss Live squid sashimi, one of Hakodate speciality. The live squid is sliced to thin layers before served. The fried rice with crab meat has rich flavor of the sea and the fragrant charcoal grilled squid is very nice.
View on GoogleHighly Recommended: Fresh Seafood & Great Service! If you are in Hakodate, you must visit KAIKOUBO. Here is why I was so impressed: • Amazing Value & Freshness: The food is completely worth the price, and all the ingredients are incredibly fresh. • Standout Dishes: The grilled cod is perfectly cooked with sweet, tender meat. But the absolute highlight is the squid sashimi—it's top-notch! • Great Vibe & Convenience: The atmosphere is lively and fun. Plus, ordering is super easy using their tablet system. • Excellent Service: The staff takes wonderful care of all guests. Whether you are a local or a foreigner, you will feel very welcome. Overall, a truly impressive restaurant in Hakodate.
View on GoogleGood quality, fresh and well cook food, esp fresh seafood, crab and squid are very good. Fish is also good. Crab fried rice is yummy. Salad is a bit blanded but seafood in it are good. No queue when we arrive but reservations are recommended as the restaurant was packed when we left. You can pick fresh seafood which they show in the restaurant but we did not do so. Will revisit if we are in Hakodate.
View on GoogleThe food is great and well cooked. The servers are foreigner friendly. Just like other people said, this place is bit of pricey so please expect to spend around 15000 yen per person with 2026 price level if you want a decent dinner.
View on GoogleNot a cheap restaurant. Of course the food was good, but the service stunk. None of the workers are enthusiastic. I don’t ask for super nice service, but some chain restaurants with cheaper meals have much better service than this place. Do I recommend this place to anyone? Questionable.
