Museum that explain the history of fishery in hakodate (fishery at the northern part of japan). English explanation was minimum but we enjoyed the fishing boat simulation. Entrance fee was also very cheap.
View on GoogleEnjoyed the history of fishing in Hokkaido very much. Take the fishing boat simulator ride. It's a lot of fun. The art museum is a waste of time
View on GoogleThe staff are friendly, speak good basic English, and very willing to help. The captain staff guides you to experience taking the boat. Many things to see and understand the fishing industry in Hakodate.
View on GoogleA little restaurant with a history of Hakodate Fishery past. It's a small museum with quite a rich collection of artifacts and history related to the topic.
View on GoogleAround the corner from the Goryokaku Tower and at ¥100, almost a tenth of the price of entering the tower, this museum offers bang for your buck. Sure it's a little old fashioned, but there's a lot of history here- taxidermy animals (couldn't believe the size of the sea lion), retro canned fish labels, old fishing equipment, a cool little section on whaling and even a emulated ride on a fishing boat. For ¥100 it's a steal and should not be missed!
