The tree itself looks really nice, bit at the end of the day, it's just a tree with lights on it
View on GoogleThe main tree's illumination changes color and pattern in time with the music, and there were fireworks too, it was so beautiful 🥹 The objects around it are cute too 💕
View on GoogleEarly December 2025, 6 PM A cold sea wind was blowing hard, it was just freezing. The parts not covered by my down coat were way too cold. Around 10 minutes before, the area in front of the Christmas tree started to get crowded, and by start time the road was packed. Fireworks went up from behind the tree flashing in all sorts of colors, worth enduring the cold. The fireworks are only at 6 PM, for about 5 minutes. In front of the tree there were also miniature houses with stuffed animals and dolls, decorated with lights, giving the illumination a fairy-tale vibe. If you're taking photos, smartphone-compatible gloves are a must. Shooting bare-handed, my hands got so cold from the wind they hurt.
View on GoogleThe tree was very beautiful. The fireworks were short and over in no time. 😓 It also looked beautiful from our hotel room. 😆 Visited 2025/12/06~2025/12/08 Hakodate Christmas Fantasy is a Christmas-themed illumination event held in Hakodate City, Hokkaido. Its highlight is a giant Christmas tree set up on the water in front of the Red Brick Warehouses, featuring about 150,000 illumination lights and fireworks. 🎄 Event features Giant tree and illumination: A giant Sakhalin fir (todomatsu) tree about 20 meters tall is decorated with about 150,000 LED bulbs, creating a magical scene. The tree is lit from 16:30 (18:00 on the first day only) and can be enjoyed until 22:00. Lighting ceremony and fireworks: Every day at 18:00, fireworks are launched as the tree lights up, coloring the night sky. Whether the fireworks go ahead depends on weather conditions such as wind. Premium Red Tree: Three times a day (18:30, 19:30, 20:30), for 15 minutes each, there's the "Premium Red Tree" show where the tree turns red. Soup Bar: A soup bar is set up at the venue to warm up chilled bodies. It's open from 16:30 to 20:00.
View on GoogleI visited here while sightseeing in Hakodate. I looked up times when it's not crowded and went twice; the impressiveness of the giant Christmas tree and the illuminations on the brick buildings and ground were captivating. If you visit as a romantic couple or married couple, I'm sure it'll be a lovely memory.
