A lot of the review explains what's inside and it's a small gallery with very insightful information. I drove from hakodate just for this and it's definitely worth the short drive. What I do find really incredible is the architecture of the building, it's absolutely stunning - haha I was a bit shocked at how beautiful this building was and how it seemless takes the contour of the hill. The exhibits inside was very cool, I enjoyed the flow of it and I was super appreciative of the care the numerous people took to preserve and present their findings. On top of that, the nature around the site was actually not that developed so you can stroll and look around with pure silence. Really loved it, it's not museum of grandeur but subtle, beautiful stories and treasure of Japan.
View on GoogleA lovely cultural center - enlightened me about a genus I didn’t know about at all. We also did a pottery experience/workshop that was very affordable and fun. The instructor was very nice and patient. She explained everything with a little help from Google Translate. There were very few visitors (was a Thursday). The building is made of concrete so some parts lack cell signal.
View on GoogleThe architecture of the building was absolutely stunning. The museum is small but it is interesting and worth the inexpensive price. I especially loved seeing the clay figure as it was impressive. After the museum, we walked through the field site nearby and the view of the meadows, mountains, and sea was serene.
