Walked past the Hakodate Beer restaurant at dinner time, there are still tables although they put up a full house sign. Live piano performance at selected time. Grilled beef tongue and squid are good, sample set of 3 local beers great for tasting.
View on GoogleThis is the local micro brewery in Hakodate. The venue itself is well laid out and with a piano jazz area set up in one corner. We went for dinner and had a selection of meat balls chicken salad and chips for 2. Plenty of food. The service was good and the food was also tasty. Loads of good beers to select from. The evening we were there they also had a duo in playing a mixture of jazz and local songs which just added to the atmosphere. Overall a very good value re food and it was tasty so I would recommend this place to anyone wanting relaxed venue for say a casual dinner.
View on GoogleFirst we wanted to eat at this location. Not having had a reservation we were seated at the bar which was no problem. The beer which was served was pretty good and just to test (what we always do), we ordered French Fries. After they arrived and we took some of these greasy looking shlabby something and then decided these are not French Fries and a place which treats potatos in that way won't treat other food better. So we left. Conclusio: Good beer but nothing else!
View on GoogleHas quite a wide variety of food, including a surprising number of SG dishes. QR code ordering, English menu. Pianist and flautist were playing during the evening as a live show. Some confusion / delay on one of the orders that may or may not be typical.
View on GoogleThe beer and ambiance were great, true to its name, 'Hakodate Beer.' However, everything else was rather disappointing. The food was bad, and none of the dishes we ordered were even close to being good. The food was extremely salty, as though the chef had dumped an entire jar of salt into it. The diced steak was very salty, and the seafood linguine was even saltier—so much so that we couldn't take a second bite. The French fries were also incredibly salty; even after shaking off the salt, they were still too salty. On the positive side, they had a live band, BEAR&OWL, who were awesome and truly the saving grace of the evening. The beer was excellent, and we enjoyed a variety of Hakodate’s local brews.
