It was my first experience staying right beside an Important Cultural Property, so I had no idea what to expect, but I was able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience. After checking in, we were given a tour inside the Important Cultural Property after regular visiting hours had ended. The very careful explanations and commentary on key features let me reflect on its history and feel how special it was as a place to stay. The hotel room was very clean and almost perfectly equipped with modern amenities, allowing me to relax in a private space. Apparently there is even more to enjoy during fireworks season, so if I have another chance, I would definitely like to stay in other rooms too. Above all, the location is excellent, so I recommend it to anyone interested in the surrounding cultural properties or visiting Hakodate for the first time.

Although I live locally, I had never visited the Former Soma Residence, so I was very excited even before going. When I arrived, it was lovely and full of historical atmosphere. Taking my time looking around the main building also let me appreciate the wonderful craftsmanship of that era. When I went to the kura where we would actually stay, it was very quiet and calming. The kura also has a second floor, so it was more than spacious enough, and we could relax comfortably. I think it's a place that makes you want to visit and stay again. Highly recommended.

The historical atmosphere of the building was truly lovely, and every corner was picture-perfect. Despite its grandeur, it had a calming atmosphere, and being able to spend time so leisurely left an impression on me. The view of Hakodate Bay from the room was beautiful too, and it was lovely how the atmosphere changed between morning and night. I think this hotel is perfect for anyone wanting some quiet time. The staff were courteous and warm, and I would definitely like to stay again when I return to Hakodate.

The atmosphere of the kura and the view from the main building's grand hall stirred a sense of familiarity and nostalgia, allowing me to relax throughout my stay and spend a deeply fulfilling, very happy time. I am grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
