Walking around the morning Market trying to find myself a breakfast to realise that many shop are not open on Wednesday but voila, here come this shop that is open. Looking at the menu at it was within my budget and rather affordable. The staff was very polite and tried the best to understand my very limited Japanese. After collecting our orders, tea were served and food arrived within 5minutes from ordering probably due to very low crowd in the shop during this period. Food were very tasty for me!
View on GoogleI went in to try a 1800 yen seafood bowl (urchin, scallop and crabs) because the shop seemed the most popular restaurant at the time I visited but I was extremely disappointed as the seafood was tasteless meaning they were not at all fresh. Even the rice was mediocre. I had palpitations 30 mins after eating which I always had after consuming stale food of proteins. A tourist rip-off. What a shame!
View on GoogleI was excited to go there because of the name "Donburi Yokocho," but the seafood donburi did not seem fresh at all. It was not cheap, but I was really disappointed that it was such an ordinary sashimi donburi.
View on GoogleDisappointment is an understatement. Had thought we’d eat fresh seafood at a fish market, and one by the port. We had fresher sashimi in Los Angeles. Got the 3,900 yen bowl. Uni was fishy, scallops did not taste fresh. Bowl was mostly rice. Perhaps better luck in the back alley shops where many seafood were on display.
View on GoogleWe picked this out of the 10+ seafood restaurants around as it has the combos we wanted, with a smaller portion. The live scallop was very fresh and definitely worth trying.
