I had ramen from one of the stalls and it was nice change. Lots of the other ramen places I had had a thick rich broth. This was cleaner but still tasty.

We had such a fantastic time at Daimon Yokocho! The atmosphere was lively and full of character, with cozy little pubs lined up next to each other, each offering its own unique vibe. What we loved most was the variety — there were so many drinks to choose from, and every single shop had a different food menu. It truly felt like a culinary adventure, hopping from one place to another and discovering new flavors at every stop. There’s so much to try that you’ll definitely want to go back again. A special mention to our host, who was absolutely wonderful. He kept us entertained throughout the evening, making the experience even more memorable with his energy and hospitality. Every time we raised our glasses, it was a cheerful “Kanpai!” 🍻 If you’re looking for a fun, authentic night out with great food, amazing drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere, Daimon Yokocho is definitely the place to be.

Charming group of izakayas. People were friendly and food was fresh and tasty. Each one serves its own specialties in an intimate setting - usually only about 10 customers each. The food was typically prepared right in front of you. We spoke very little Japanese, but the hosts spoke a little English and there were often pictures of food, so it all worked out. It was great to feel so welcomed by locals. Go there for a wonderful, authentic Hokkaido experience!

This outdoor food court has a huge selection restaurants and bar that you can never get tire of even if you just randomly try one every single day. The food is excellent and the service is good. The atmosphere is typical of Japanese izakaya style, so you can relax, get a drink and some food, and just chill out and spend the evening here.

This location is bustling with crowds, both locals and tourists when we visited on a weekday evening. They have so many seafood restaurants, selling fresh crabs, clams, and other meats fresh in stock! The prices can't be beat outside of the country, and is a must-try if you're a tourist visiting Hakodate like us. There are so many restaurants to choose from here, you can never go wrong in where you pick to eat. Do give Daimon Yokocho a visit - you won't regret it!
