The Hokkaido Seabird Center is a fascinating destination for nature enthusiasts and bird lovers alike. Located near Haboro Roadside Station, Sun Plaza Hotel, the Rose Garden, and several restaurants, it’s a convenient and accessible spot for visitors exploring the area. The center features plenty of informative exhibits showcasing the diverse seabird species found on the island, including detailed displays about species that are now extinct. These exhibits provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the region's rich biodiversity and the efforts to protect these unique creatures. One of the standout features of the Hokkaido Seabird Center is that it remains open even in winter, making it a great option for travelers during the colder months. Its free entrance is another bonus, allowing visitors to explore and enjoy the exhibits without any cost. With its educational displays, strategic location near local attractions, and commitment to raising awareness about seabird conservation, the Hokkaido Seabird Center is a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Haboro. Whether you're a dedicated birder or simply curious about the natural world, this center offers a rewarding experience.
View on GoogleInteresting building with a lot of seabirds samples. The place is well designed and well maintained. Best of all it's free to all. It is located right beside a roadside station.
View on GoogleThis is a small animal and environmental museum. They have a very nice flower garden next to it and a small park.

View on GoogleAfter seeing the seabirds’ vibrant breeding grounds firsthand on Teuri Island, I stopped here straight afterward as if to check my answers. It was absolutely the right choice. The detailed exhibits connected the birds’ adorable behavior I had seen on the island with the background of their harsh lives, like dots joining into lines, greatly stimulating an adult’s intellectual curiosity. Taxidermy, videos, and records of conservation work are packed into content so engaging it’s hard to believe admission is free, and I became absorbed enough to lose track of time. From a journey of simply admiring scenery to one of deeply understanding the local natural world. This is a wonderful place to learn that brings a trip along the Ororon Line into much sharper focus. Before crossing to Teuri Island, or at the end of your journey, be sure to experience it with all five senses.
