Staffs are arrogant. They just ignored us even i spoken Japanese to them. We waited few minutes and still did not receive any response from them. We finally left the place. Very bad.

In central Yamabe, look for the banner saying “daily lunch, yakiniku” We parked in the lot beside the restaurant When we went inside, an elderly lady welcomed us A few local regulars were already there We chose the raised tatami seating area Today's recommendations were written on a small blackboard Lots of narrow menu slips were posted on the walls It's full of Showa-era atmosphere I wanted katsudon, but they said they had no meat for it We looked at the menu again and decided on the daily set meal and katsu curry The daily set was packed with red salmon, a croquette, karaage, a boiled egg, ham, Napolitan, and salad The katsu curry came with tonkatsu that wasn't very thick, but was crisply fried and delicious. The curry seemed like retort-pouch curry, but it really suited the restaurant's atmosphere Overall, it was delicious katsu curry. I wonder how much longer this restaurant can keep operating I hope they keep going(^^)

It's a local diner. There was no air conditioning, just a fan, which somehow felt very Hokkaido-like (haha) The set meal was generous and delicious. But it was a little disappointing that the ramen noodles seemed over-softened.

Since it's an old-fashioned diner, I wondered if it would be okay. But it turned out to be a real winner! The daily set meal was just like the photo, for 900円. The pork rice bowl was 850円. It was delicious.
