June 2025 Dedicated parking lot 🅿︎ available 1 facility only: ¥500 Combined ticket for all 3 facilities: ¥1,200 The theme songs of "From Auntie Kita no Kuni kara - From the Far Land" and "Hotaru" are playing at high volume (lol). I stroll through the forest singing "aaa~" in my head. I can hear birds chirping, like cuckoos, and it has a nice atmosphere. It wasn't just a fun drama; it was an unforgettable drama where you strongly feel the harshness of living, the importance of family, individual growth, and life and death. I cried so much... 😭 So nostalgic...

First the stone monument of Goro's will caught my eye, and remembering the drama, tears overflowed. Not only the two houses from the drama, but there's even the house of Jun and Yui built two years after the will, and I cried again. Kita no Kuni kara just keeps on continuing, doesn't it. It kept sounding a warning bell to our lives that have become too affluent. And I cried again at the line in Jun's letter: "Dad kept pouring one-way, unconditional love on us, never changing." The buildings have gotten a bit old, but for fans of the drama it's a moving place.

I went in July 2023. I'm a fan of Kita no Kuni kara and it was a place I'd always wanted to visit, so I was moved. Buying the combined ticket for the 3 sites is a bit cheaper. At the place where you buy tickets, they give you a Rokugo sightseeing map.

I went at the earnest request of a friend who's a Kita no Kuni kara fan. I had only occasionally watched the special episodes, so I wasn't that moved. When I talked with the person at the handmade wooden goods shop, they said they stay holed up all winter making wood-carved goods. Winters around here must be tough.
