Incredibly delicious sashimi, inexpensive fries with generous portions, and a soul food dish I could not help ordering (haha). The atmosphere was lovely too, and the customer next to me treated me to lots of drinks. Beyond the food, the owner was wonderful and showed me photos of his exceptionally tasteful home garden.
View on GoogleThe izakaya 「薫風」 in Esashi is a warm, welcoming place loved by locals and tourists alike. The first surprise was how reasonable the prices were for the quality of the food. The fresh seafood and carefully prepared dishes are all delicious and highly satisfying. The interior is calm and comfortable, so even first-time visitors can relax. Above all, the owner’s kindness leaves an impression. He chats with you in a friendly way, making you feel at ease as if visiting an acquaintance’s home. There is karaoke too, perfect for having a lively time with friends. I highly recommend this izakaya to anyone wanting a delicious, enjoyable evening in Esashi.
View on GoogleGoogle Maps directs you to the back, so you get lost. If you follow Google Maps, you will think, what is this? Is it even a restaurant? But if you leave the narrow lane or go to the front road(?), the restaurant is definitely there. It feels like a hidden place. I was there on Monday from 18~20, but there was only one customer besides me! Why??? I went for drinks, so I ordered draft beer, sashimi, and hokke. The sashimi is tasty despite being cheap, and the portion is generous! The hokke… its thickness absolutely shocked me!😱 The flavor cannot beat the one I had in Wakkanai, but it is miles better than in my hometown of Kobe!!👍 The owner chats with you in a friendly way, so it was super comfortable. The standard menu was incredibly cheap. It is impossible, but if a place like this existed in Kobe, I would absolutely become a regular!!😅👍
View on GoogleI visited alone while touring abandoned railway lines, and the owner was friendly and chatted with me about all sorts of things, which was enjoyable.
View on GoogleAn izakaya with karaoke. The rooms are semi-private, so of course you can hear everything. But it creates a sense of togetherness throughout the place, which is fun. The food mostly consists of typical izakaya snacks such as yakitori and pickles.
