My first visit. An old concrete pillar stands beside the intersection. At first glance, it almost looks like a one-eyed goblin boy?👀‼️. According to the inscription on the back, the Sekikawa family donated it to the town in 1928 (April, Showa 3)☺️. With a dial 30㎝ in diameter, its long hand pointed to English words indicating stormy, rainy, unsettled, fair, very dry, and so on. An excellent device🆗. At the time, only the fishing boss had a barometer👏.

At the time, only the fishing boss had a barometer, so fishermen checked the needle before setting out to help forecast the weather. It was installed in 1928 (Showa 3).
View on GoogleIt is an unusual barometer, so I could not resist taking a photo. Installing it to predict the weather is just what you would expect from a fishing town.
