An interesting museum that’s definitely worth a visiting if you’ve come all this way to see the lighthouse and birds. There are lots of exhibits (some in English, but Google Lens will help) and a documentary film showing local life across the four seasons. There’s also a viewing gallery with telescopes that looks out over the rocks. There are toilets.
View on GoogleFantastic views over Cape Erimo. This small museum has binoculars to see the seal colony (on clear days). Also, they have a wind tunnel where you can experience gale force winds. Only ¥300 to get in. Bargain. Hokkaidoguide.com
View on GoogleWe were prepared to be blown away by violent winds that are well known at Cape Erimo but instead were pleasantly greeted by a calm and sunny seascape. The walk along the well maintained trail was a beautiful experience. Since we missed the wind in its natural element, we braved the force of its mighty wind in the safety of the museum of the wind and had the time of our life :)
View on GoogleWe experienced the wind from different speeds! It was fun! And the panorama view was great! I could just sit there all day to enjoy the view! It has free binoculars to see seals on the rocks from the museum.
View on GoogleI was relieved to see the waves of seals floating in the cold scenery.
