A well-worn Showa-era diner with a seriously cool old-school feel. Apparently, when it was founded in Showa 43, it was originally more of a soba diner. It's located around the boundary between the station and the entertainment district, and has parking. Smoking is allowed and children are not admitted. Single seats line the walls, and there is a raised floor seating area too. They serve set meals, rice bowls, and curry, with no noodles. They also do hand-dripped coffee. If you're looking for a vanishing Showa-era diner, the atmosphere will strike a chord; otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. Miso mackerel set meal and curry. The curry is beef curry-style.
View on GoogleIt's been a while since I've found a place this hopeless (lol) Probably they were featured on TV or something? And it went to their heads Are all the fried foods frozen products? The shredded cabbage is thick-cut The tonjiru is just miso soup with ingredients added and it's quite salty too As for the hamburg steak curry, the curry is definitely a retort-pouch product The hamburg steak also tastes like a frozen product? The lid of the cold-water jug was dirty… Smoking was allowed, but the restaurant doesn't show enough consideration for people eating Let me be blunt: even with a generous assessment, the cooking is amateur-level at best. It seems they only attract customers because this town has few restaurants They say it's been 56 years? since they opened, and I don't know what the place or food was like then, but my assessment at present is that they should quit.
View on GoogleI had the katsudon that has remained unchanged for 56 years, but it wasn't to my taste.
View on GoogleIt says it's a soba restaurant, but the menu is extensive, and as the name suggests, it felt more like a diner. They have everything, from rice bowls to noodles. I had ばあちゃんの混ぜご飯. A set with a small side dish, potato salad, stir-fried tomatoes, pickles, takikomi gohan, and a small udon. You can choose udon or soba (for an extra charge). The udon didn't seem particularly special, and overall the flavors were home-style. It felt like being at Grandma's house.
View on GoogleVisited during lunchtime on 2025.7.5. There was a sign saying smoking was permitted… I left without even opening the door. Those with children and those who dislike smoking, please take note.
