The food here is great. The variety is really impressive and everything on the menu is delicious. In addition to their great food, you can buy locally made goods from Embetsu. It's a great place for photos as well.

Great food in decent prices (average set meal in 1200 yen). Best butadon I have ever had by far (and I’ve had quite a few). Highly recommended!

The view from the observation deck was beautiful. Faintly, I could see Rishiri Fuji and was surprised! If the weather had been a bit better, I wonder if Teuri Island would have been visible too~. But the 85 steps were tiring 😓

Recommended as a coworking space. Free, with power outlets and Wi-Fi 💭 It has been renovated, and the 1st floor is a children's space and the 2nd floor is a coworking space. There is also an observation deck. Without climbing the stairs from the roadside station, there is a route going the long way around that leads to the hill where the facility is located.

Tongarikan" stands on a small hill right next to the roadside station "Embetsu Fujimi." It used to be a restaurant, but in Reiwa 6 (2024) it reopened after renovation as an 『indoor children's play area and telework facility』. From the 30 m-high observation tower, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Sea of Japan. (However, you have to climb an 85-step spiral staircase 😅) The day I visited was cloudy, but they say Rishiri Fuji is beautifully visible on a clear day (Visited on July 29, 2024)
