Visited about 2 weeks ago. The bridge is historical and the beauty is the Shikotsu lake. Had some time to walk around and then went into the visitor centre before a heavy downpour. A parking fee of ¥500 is required.

The Yamasen Railway Bridge is such a hidden gem! Standing on the bridge, you can admire breathtaking views on both sides — the water below is a stunning mix of jade green and deep blue, so clean and clear it almost looks unreal. The scenery feels calm and refreshing, with nature all around adding to the charm. It’s a perfect spot for photos, a peaceful walk, or just enjoying the fresh air and beautiful landscape. Truly one of those places where you can slow down and appreciate Hokkaidō’s natural beauty. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the area.
