Located within New Chitose Airport, the SKY Museum is a hidden gem for aviation fans and curious travelers alike. Though relatively small, the museum makes excellent use of its space with a well-organized layout that focuses on education and engagement. The highlight of the museum is its wealth of informational displays. Dozens of panels line the walls, offering deep insights into how airports operate—from air traffic control and baggage handling to flight paths and aircraft maintenance. It’s surprisingly detailed, and even those without a background in aviation will find the explanations accessible and engaging. In addition to the info boards, the museum features several airport-related exhibits, including scale models of aircraft, replicas of airplane interiors, and interactive elements like a cockpit simulator where visitors can get a feel for what it's like to be in the pilot’s seat. These hands-on components make the experience more immersive, especially for younger visitors or anyone with a fascination for flying.

Simple and interesting place. I recommend you to visit this place, especially for people that have interest in aviation. You can get new knowledges about aviation (for beginner). There are aviation instruments such as marshaller and Headset(?) for covering ears from the sound of plane engines for technician, we can act as if we are them. Also, its a best place for plane spotter since it provides seat and just watch the plane!

I was here in 1995! ( under JICA Look to East Policy, Malaysia-Japan....) Such a great effort for the built of the museum. There was a flying club for the society. When I visited this club, they only have 6 members....the government was so concerned for the development of a flying club. Tq Japan... (I will add the photos later ok, have to find it first)
