Very delicious ramen. Dare I say the best ramen I've tasted in my 22 year old life!!! The lobster tasted really thick in the mouthfeel of the broth and the cha siu was soft and tender. The roe ? Was slightly crispy and the noodles were chewy and piping hot. You can choose original (just shrimp) or thick / rich broth (shrimp & pork). If you want to have more protein, you should choose the add on pork slices (cha siu) option! Or egg bc the default is one pork slice and one (half) egg.
View on GoogleIchigen is a popular Ramen shop at Chitose Airport Ramen Street. A long quene of people are always lining up in the front. Tried their shrimp rice ball. Full of shrimp taste and fragrance. However, rice was a little bit hard. They offer both thick and thin noodle with soup flavours of shrimp and salt, shrimp and miso and shrimp and soy sauce. The soup is thick, heavy and oily. Personally I like soup exactly opposite to it so that you can take them all. People mostly prefer thin rather than thick noodle. Hence thin one was sold out when arrived.
View on GoogleIchigen Ramen is located in the New Chitose Airport domestic terminal, with its main branch in Sapporo. They are well known for their shrimp-based ramen broth. There are three flavors to choose from: Shrimp & Salt, Shrimp & Miso, and Shrimp & Soy Sauce. I tried the Shrimp & Miso and the Shrimp & Soy Sauce. You can also choose between the original or rich broth, and select your preferred noodle thickness. The menu is available in English, making ordering easy. From the first sip, the broth bursts with rich shrimp umami. The toppings complement the ramen nicely, especially the perfectly cooked chashu. Toward the end, the broth did feel slightly salty due to its richness, but it was still very satisfying overall. This is a great place to stop for a meal once you arrive at the airport before heading into the city. Be prepared to queue, as this outlet is very popular.
View on GoogleAt first I didn’t understand the hype. Why were people lining up way more for this ramen joint than the others in the ramen dojo? But my experience here (and subsequent experiences of other ramen places within the ramen dojo) taught me that it was for good reason. It’s not just the niche offering of ebi ramen that appeals, but the broth and noodles are just that good—whether one takes into account the shrimpiness or not. All ingredients are top notch, too. Unless one is running short on time, this place is fully recommended. Get the onigiri and dip it in the broth for a risotto like experience.
View on GoogleThe only ramen shop at Nee Chitose Airport with a queue which formed before 9am. The gyoza was nice and the prices were reasonable. However, the prawn soup was too salty for my taste buds, it was to the extend of tasting a tad bitter.
