We stumbled into Hello Kitty Happy Flight at New Chitose Airport during a quick dash before our flight home, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise for the kids. Located along Smile Road, this themed area feels like stepping into a playful Hello Kitty version of an international airport. The setup includes adorable zones themed after different countries, with fun backdrops and photo spots featuring Sanrio characters. The kids loved the pretend check-in counter, stamping stations, and the general whimsical vibe. It was interactive and entertaining without being overwhelming. We did some last-minute shopping at the Happy Flight gift shop, where they sell exclusive merchandise only found at this location. We picked up some cute souvenirs like Hello Kitty-themed cookies, stationery, and even some ice cream in collectible cups. It was a hit with the little ones. Though the themed café was closed when we got there, the shop alone made it worth the stop. It was a sweet way to wrap up our Hokkaido trip—fun, memorable, and full of smiles.

Great for hello kitty lover. You can order the ice cream with the cup, and bring back the cup for momento. Choose the design that u like and start your collection. The ice cream is nice, one of the best i tried in Hokkaido. There are plenty of seats so don’t worry. A nice place to rest and pit stop after a long day of shopping in the airport.

Great place for die hard Hello Kitty fans to visit in New Chitose airport. The decoration of the place is so adorable. The food with Hello Kitty mould looks cute too. Another must try is Hokkaido milk ice-cream, it isn’t pricy but yet so tasty!

All kids love this place and some adults too! Kids will experience the check in counter for tickets and wait for the flight. Its an adventure for kids and some adults who enjoyed hello kitty when they were young! If you are a hello kitty lover then I guess this place will be a nice adventure.
