さかえ食堂Sakae
This is "Oshokujidokoro Sakae -SAKAE-," a diner and izakaya in Biratori, Saru District, Hokkaido. Carrying on the flavors and techniques of "Ajidokoro Sakae," which the grandmother ran for 30 years, her grandchild and spouse reopened it after renovation in November 2024. The signature lunch item is the homemade katsu curry, made from a recipe handed down from the grandmother's generation. The ramen boasts a slowly simmered chicken-bone-based soup, and you can choose from shio featuring natural salt made in Okinawa, shoyu packed with the umami of Hidaka kombu, or an original blended miso. For days when you want a hearty meal, there's also G-style ramen topped with a mountain of bean sprouts, seared chashu, special Biratori wagyu fat, and chopped garlic from Atsuma…

I had katsu curry, and it felt like it gave me a burst of energy. I’ll definitely be back to try other items on the menu!
View on GoogleEvery year around this season I go to Biratori to pick wild mountain vegetables, and this year I tried this place for the first time. The curry and ramen are very delicious, and there are even menu items a competitive eater might go for; I think it's a fun place. I was surprised to be able to eat Jiro-inspired-style ramen in Biratori. Even after wild vegetable season is over, I'd like to come eat again. I want to try the evening izakaya menu too
View on GoogleVisited around 12:30 at noon. I struggled with how big the menu was (well, my sister did lol)😂 I heard the curry is spicy, so I went with a set meal. It was very delicious😋 It came with a small bowl of curry, so I put it on my rice and ate it. I think people who can handle spice should order the curry
View on GoogleThe food is delicious; foreigners translating on their own should have no trouble ordering; it's quite relaxing all the same; closes for a break at 14:00 in the afternoon
View on GoogleThe regular rice portion is 300g. The taste is good too; nothing to complain about. However, lunch service only on weekends is a high hurdle.
