Showa-retro 浅草軒🍜 I went for the first time in nearly 40 years, and the salt ramen was light with the same old flavor. Ramen like this is nice once in a while.
View on GoogleA 5-minute walk from JR Bihoro Station, with parking directly across from the restaurant. A long-established ramen shop run by a woman and her daughter. Inside are an L-shaped counter extending toward the back and a raised seating area. I ordered 塩バターチャーシュー for 1200円. Clear, light soup with springy medium-thin noodles. Fu and wood ear mushrooms add accents. The チャーシュー was thick and delicious too.
View on GoogleThis was my 2nd visit, and I ordered yakisoba because I'd heard it was popular. It had pork, cabbage, bean sprouts, and naruto, with fresh noodles tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. Frankly, I wondered why it was so popular. I wanted a little heat, so I added pepper and chili to change the flavor as I ate. Honestly, it felt a little disappointing, especially since the salt ramen had been delicious.
View on Google塩野菜チャーシュー Not-thick egg noodles, smooth and cooked just right. Light salt flavor. Delicious チャーシュー with a satisfying bite. And fragrant stir-fried vegetables. Somehow, “old-fashioned ramen.” But also, “this is what ramen should be.” That's 浅草軒. Thinking about it makes me want to eat it.
View on Google塩チャーシュー麺 ・The soup is light but has a definite salt flavor and is delicious. ・The チャーシュー has just enough fat, is tender and delicious, and goes well with rice too if you eat it with a little of the garlic provided on the table. ・Maybe these aren't curly egg noodles? They're white, curly noodles, smooth and delicious. Looking at the other customers, plenty were eating soy sauce or miso ramen, or yakisoba. Even though I usually like rich, fatty ramen or boldly flavored miso ramen, this was a light salt ramen I'd want to eat again.
