Visited about 3 weeks ago. An informative museum although exhibits are mostly in Japanese. There were hardly any visitors which is such a waste. Its not far from the waterfall but requires a climb of several hundred steps through a staircase tunnel. Alternative is a long drive around.
View on Google🌟Jeff's Guide🌟 ✅ Good location to learn more about the mechanism of the volcano eruption and its effect on the development if Shirogane hot spring town, the agriculture nearby and the tragedy in the past🌋 ✅ The VR goggle on the first floor provides you a 360 view from the drone of the environment nearby, including how the blue lake is connected to the river💙 ✅ Despite her weak English speaking, the staff tried her best to guide us. Really appreciate her ☺️ ✅ Printout of the information exhibited on 2/F is available on 1st floor with simplified Chinese, English and Korean ❌Need to clinb up to 285 steps. This staircase is built for emergency evacuation
View on GoogleWhat a surprise find up the stairs at the end of the bridge after visiting the waterfall! Very informative with well made videos. Spent about 45mins. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleIt's a long walk up over 270 steps, but worth it. The staff are very friendly and spoke English. There were a couple of interesting videos to watch, which did have English subtitles (contrary to what other reviews have claimed). The views from the centre are tremendous.
View on GoogleReally loved our time here! We walked from the town below after seeing the waterfall. There are a lot of covered stairs up to the facility. If you can't do stairs, that's okay! You can also drive to the parking lot above. We love learning about Volcanic Activity so it was very exciting for us. The staff there is really nice and helpful. Would recommend to anyone!
