I came from the west side, but it is a dirt road. The area around the intersection with the tree is also unpaved. You could probably get through on a motorcycle if it is dry and not muddy. There are hardly any tourists, so go when the weather is good.
View on GoogleA hidden spot that hardly any tourists visit. The scenery is beautiful, but there is no parking lot or signage, and the gravel road is too narrow for oncoming vehicles to pass. When visiting, be careful not to get in the farmers’ way.
View on GoogleA hidden photo spot. Cross the bridge and walk up a gentle slope for about 500m. The road is unpaved and narrow, so park in a wider area below and walk. The area near the poplar is a farm road, so cars hardly ever come through, but passing each other is difficult.
View on GoogleThe poplar on Akabane Hill, backed by the Tokachi mountain range, has the grandeur characteristic of Hokkaido and is an iconic view of Biei. Early winter mornings offer a chance to photograph the sunrise,,, the shadows and sparkling snow make a beautiful picture.
