The type 9600 steam locomotive, commonly called “Kunroku,” is preserved as a static display! Steam locomotives are preserved in various places around Hokkaido, but this one is in relatively good condition. My respect to those who manage and preserve it! Thank you!

Built in fiscal year 1919 at Kawasaki Dockyard with manufacturing number 553 as the 401st type 9600 steam locomotive. It is equipped with shortened Hokkaido-style smoke deflectors. It is a type 9600 fitted with standard Hokkaido equipment.
