Visited on a weekday during the Obon period in 2024. Recommended for people interested in coal mines and industrial heritage. It deepens your understanding of life at the coal mines that once existed around here. There did not seem to be parking on the grounds, so I was allowed to use the vacant lot with a construction office across the prefectural road directly in front. The exhibits are good, but the facility does not seem to be actively attracting tourists. It has been 50 years since the coal mine closed, and perhaps this is a place to appreciate together with its lonely atmosphere.

This is a museum of 三菱美唄炭鉱. The exhibits are simple, but give a clear picture of what it was like back then. I used the ski area's parking lot across the way.
